What we collect

When you create an account: your name, email, and a hashed password. When you use the service: the URLs you shorten and metadata about clicks (timestamp, country, device family, hashed visitor identifier). We do not store IP addresses in plaintext.

How we use it

To run the service: route redirects, render your dashboard, and compute analytics. To bill you: process payments via our payment provider. To communicate with you: account notices and product updates (you can opt out of marketing).

Visitor tracking

When someone clicks one of your short links we record an aggregated click row. We salt and hash an identifier derived from the visitor's cookie, IP, and user-agent so unique-visitor counts work without retaining personal information. We never sell visitor data.

Cookies

We set a first-party cookie (snipt_visitor) on the redirect endpoint to count unique visitors. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Sharing

We share data with infrastructure providers strictly to operate the service: hosting (Vercel), database (Neon), authentication (Better Auth via our infrastructure), and payments (Stripe). Each is bound by a data-processing agreement.

Your rights

You can export or delete your account and all associated data from settings at any time. Contact privacy@snipt.app for any other privacy request.

Retention

We keep click history for the duration listed on your plan (e.g., 30 days on Free, 1 year on Premium). Account information is retained until you delete your account, then purged within 30 days.

Changes

We'll post material changes here and notify you by email.
